Dr Khavharendwe Rambau is a post-doctoral researcher at the CSIR-HySA infrastructure doing research on hydrogen technologies, carbon dioxide capture and utilization. She holds a PhD in physics from the University of Pretoria and has published articles on hydrogen storage and conversion. Her work also expands towards hydrogen safety codes and standards (HSCS), with the focus of identifying gaps within the South African context. Additionally, works towards information sharing related to HSCS through hosting workshops and training events. She also co-leads the Maritime Task Force for same in the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE), to determine the status quo, compilation, and preparation of inventory of regulations, codes, and standards in the Maritime sector.  Her contributions towards science advocacy led her to the list of Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans’2022 under the Science and Innovation category.
