Sikhipha Pfano is 23 years-old and is from Mbaleni Village (Makwarela Ext 3) in Vhembe District in Limpopo. She is a sophisticated, energetic ,ambitious and goal-driven young lady. Sikhipha holds a BA degree in Media Studies from the University of Venda. She is optimistic about the future of Journalism, which has led her to pursue a career in Media and Journalism.
In 2019, she was a volunteer at Nzhelele Community Radio Station where she was a news reader in English and Tshivenda. During that time at Nzhelele FM, she learnt the huge impact and influence radio and the media has in society.
She joined SAASTA in February 2020 and is currently working as a science journalism intern hosted by Malamulele Community Radio Station. Her duties include research, writing and conducting interviews related to science.
The reason she applied for the Youth Science and Technology Journalism Internship Programme is because she is passionate about communicating science, technology and innovation to the community, thus informing and engaging Malamulele FM audience about science advancement.
