Dr. Marina Joubert

Dr Marina Joubert is a senior science communication researcher and lecturer at Stellenbosch University (SU) in South Africa. After working as a science communication manager and consultant for two decades, she joined SU in 2015. In addition to coordinating and presenting an online science communication course with a focus on Africa, she teaches several modules on public engagement with science as part of an MPhil programme on science and technology studies. Her current research interests focus on scientists’ role in public communication of science, as well as online interfaces between science and society. She is actively involved in academic teaching and evidence-based science communication training and serves on the advisory boards of several journals and international research collaborations.
