The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every South African and others across the world. The best way we can respond and limit the effects of the pandemic is by collective action. It takes all of us to adhere to social distancing, wearing masks, sanitising, and other advice provided by scientists to give us the best chance of fighting the pandemic and limit its impact on our country and its citizens. Unfortunately, sometimes misinformation and myths circulate amongst us which can hinder our efforts of working together.
The South African government has addressed some of these myths and shared these images to help us understand the correct information. You have probably heard of some of them or seen some spread on social media. Next time a friend, family member, colleague or someone in your community talks about any of these myths, please talk to them respectfully about the correct information and help spread the facts.
