Her greatest achievement has been to engage these young scientists to compete at an international level. Nalini is the Kwa-Zulu Natal Provincial Coordinator for the, Eskom Expo for Young Scientists. As a leading STEMI professional, Nalini is setting the pace for skills development in the province through her influence as provincial coordinator for the Eskom Expo. She holds a BEd (Hons) in Science Education, and has accumulated a wealth of experience in education over her 20 years as a teacher.

Engaging with other STEMI collaborators, to promote science clubs in the province, is an initiative that has sparked a lot of interest. The responsibility of learner engagement in STEMI activities and competitions, is not only that of the teacher, but the school community as a whole. She strongly believes, if you want to go far, go together. Establishing and engaging collaborations with various stakeholders is key to promoting and sustaining interest in STEMI with the youth at school level.
