Name: Mr. Vicent Mbonye

 

 

Vicent Mbonye serves as the Manager for the iTEACHlab. He is an information technology specialist with a keen interest in technology’s impact on society and organizations. Currently pursuing a PhD in Information Systems and Technology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Westville campus, Vicent has also earned a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Technology (MCOM IS&T), a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Information Systems and Technology (BCOM IS&T, Hons), and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (BIT, cum laude), all from the UKZN Westville campus.

With experience as a private consultant, Vicent has conducted IT audits, aligned IT strategies with business models, optimized processes, assessed perception of service quality, managed risks, strengthened cybersecurity, and designed websites. He has also served as a journal manager for various UKZN journals and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Vicent’s research interests include a broad range of topics such as E-learning, research in education, smart grid security, information privacy, cybersecurity, technology use and adoption in organizations, academic use of the internet, user perception of Wi-Fi quality, the Internet of things, and smart cities.
