Joint Inter-Departmental Jobs/Career Fair And Research Delivery Initiative (Western Cape)

The expanded mandate of the Department Of Employment And Labour includes “Employment” with the focus shifting from Labour market regulation to employment creation and the coordination of employment efforts throughout the government and it’s agencies.The president of South Africa ,His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa ,in the June 2019 SONA speech ,said that “the Department of Labour (DEL) will coordinate all Government efforts to create jobs and reduce unemployment”.

South Africa faces an immediate unemployment crisis with significant social and economic consequences.To this end, a collaborative effort with Government departments is necessary to address unemployment and poverty ,which will improve social and political stability ,creating a virtuous cycle that supports growth.
