Rolivhuwa Sadiki is an ambitious 25-year-old journalist. She also describes herself as a success-addict, dream-chaser and a global citizen. Having been passionate about the media industry, particularly print and broadcast journalism from a young age, she experienced first-hand journalism training as a freelance journalist trainee at Mukurukuru Media Enterprise (a newspaper agency) under the guidance and tutelage of veteran journalist Lucas Ledwaba.

The training eventually led her to writing news stories and in-depth researched features for publications such as Sowetan, City Press, New Frame, Inside Politics, Inside Education, Inside Metro, Sunday Independent and the agency’s own website.

She hails from Maniini, a semi-rural area situated just outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo and holds a BA in Media Studies from the University of Venda, which she obtained in 2016. In 2017, she graduated from the University of Limpopo with Honours in Media Studies.

From this internship, she hopes to learn more about the world of science and technology, and science journalism. She certainly believes the experience will be worth it. She has been placed at Univen FM – a community radio station situated at the University of Venda.
