Mobile phone pictures generally don't make the grade!

The saying "a picture tells a thousand words" is an important departure point. When you set out to write an article or media story consider what illustration you can use to make it the focal point and draw the reader to the story.

Pictures for media need to be in high resolution, at least 300dpi. A high resolution picture is a large file typically in the order of 1 - 3 MB. If you are taking the picture with a digital camera, use the highest possible resolution something like 5 megapixels or higher. A mobile phone camera that takes only a 2 megapixel is not suitable.
