What's in it for you?

The entrants of the top 500 photographs will each receive the book: Five Rounds of SA Science Lens.

Prize for overall winner of SA Science Lens 2007: Canon EOS1000D with
18-55mm lens kit.

Prizes for the first four categories: a first prize of R10 000 and two R2 500 prizes for runners-up.

State-of-the-art Canon cameras for winners in the I See Science & Technology category.

A special group award will be made to ten participants from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique in the I See Science and Technology category. They will spend a photography development weekend in Pretoria with an accompanying educator. The learners and educators will be hosted for two nights and the programme will include science photography training and a facilities tour of a major South African science facility.

Science Centres are encouraged to train learners in photography and enter the top 10 photographs from these training sessions in the I See Science & Technology category. There are special incentives for Science Centres to participate in the competition.
