  • African Science Communication Conference
    SAASTA will host an African Science Communication Conference focusing specifically on the need to develop this field and establish collaborative networks on the African continent engaging academies, universities, the public, science centres and private research centres, as well as industry, the media, the education field and professional practitioners. The conference will be held at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth , South Africa , from 4-7 December 2006.

  • Public Understanding of Biotechnology (PUB) Programme
    A programme on the Public Understanding of Biotechnology (PUB) has been launched by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) in early 2003. SAASTA was elected as the implementing agency for PUB by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), who are funding this three year initiative.
