Geometric shapes of cultural products (indigenous building technology as well as beadwork), interactive activity where the learners can construct geometric shapes like triangles and squares (using the beads), patterns of traditional shelters.
Permaculture – site visit to a farm where permanent agriculture is successful. Learners will learn how to plant different vegetables etc. in order to have food through the year. Workshop for school learners on the importance of science for agriculture with demonstrations by various departments in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences related to the value chain of making cheese and yoghurt.

TRAC laboratory sessions. The TRAC programme uses computer technology and specially developed syllabus material to bring the school syllabus alive, using real life examples to show learners how science and mathematics are used to solve real life problems. Materials found in and around the home are used to do fun activities in order to fix science and mathematics concepts.

The following topics will be presented to 65 learners from each of two schools daily: • setting up a basic electrical circuit (interactive activity using everyday materials like pins & paper clips, etc.) • geometric shapes of cultural products ( beadwork): interactive activity where the learners can construct geometric shapes such as circle, triangles and squares (using the beads Water testing experiments: the learners will be taken to a pond with polluted water. They will be given worksheets as well as materials to carry out tests such as ph, oxygen content, temperature, nitrate ions concentration, etc

Siyandisa and Rooivalk helicopter programme for school learners for careers in the Airforce.
- Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein
Workshop to teach learners to build a model bridge. The workshop will prepare them for the annual SAICE Bridge Building competition. The learners will build a bridge with bits of wood that are of similar dimensions using quick drying glue. At the end of the workshop all the bridges will be tested with a load so that learners can experience first hand what works and what doesn’t.

- Open day with visits of to laboratories Electrical Engineering (Light & Heavy Current), Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology. General information of courses and demonstrations will be provided. Learners will also visit the Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing as well as the FABLAB, the only one of its kind in the Free State.
- Visits to various health and biology-related training laboratories, research units and salons. Demonstrations will also be done by EMC.
