2012 Prizes are:

• One overall winner wins a trip to an international science communication conference/workshop.
• Winners of each category will be awarded a prize to the value of R10000
• Runners up in each category will be awarded prize to the value of R5000.
• Top articles will be published in print media. Winners will also receive exposure to print media production.
• Top scripts will be produced and broadcast through selected community radio stations. Winners will receive radio production and broadcast exposure.
• Top viral video will be promoted through a viral video campaign.
• A People’s Choice Award will be awarded based on voting of top judges selections through social media.
