African Window (National Cultural History Museum)

Where is it?

The African Window, a part of South Africa's Northern Flagship Institution, is in Visagie Street, Pretoria, between Bosman and Schubart Streets. It is open 7 days a week, from 08:00 - 16:00. Phone the African Window on (012) 324-6082.

What is on display?

The African Window is well worth a visit for African Origins explorers. At this museum you will find examples of:

  • Rock art of the San people and exhibition of the way of life of these hunter-gatherers
  • The history of the Sotho-Tswana People of the Blue Mountain
  • Iron Age figurines from Schroda in the Limpopo Province
